Last Sunday, I went with a couple guys to the Treasure Coast Pride event down in Port St. Lucie. The event ran from noon til 6pm, but we planned on getting there around 1:30pm and staying until 3:30pm.
The drive down was pretty easy. And I wish I got a picture of it, but we saw a truck with children toys and such overflowing in trunk but being held down by strings of Christmas lights (HA!).
When we got to the South County Regional Stadium (Thanks Cindy for directions), we saw rainbow banners, lines of booths, and a stage at the far end.
Long story short (since I'm behind on my blog entries), there wasn't so much to do there (one quick go around was enough for me), but eventually the guys that I was with wanted to go to the local gay bar afterwards, so I found/had-to-find another ride back to Melbourne (kid-hostage all over again).
One of the TLR guys offered to take me back to town, but I'd have to wait until they packed up the booth and all... so staying later than planned/expected. I was bummed that I wasn't going to get anything accomplished once I got home, but still I found some good in it: I got to spend time with Melbourne's gorgeous power couple, and on the car-ride back to town, I got to learn more about someone I may not have otherwise (interesting).
