LINK: OutSports.com & PopNography.com

I just found OutSports.com's 2008 Olympic Blog and was just catching up and came across an article at Popnography with the funniest blurb.

> After making a spirited defense that Men's Synchro diving is not super gay, the Chinese men's springboard team proved us wrong by totally fagging out after winning the 10m event yesterday. Lin Yue and Huo Liang, seen above, got emotional after nabbing the gold and, well, you have eyes, don't you? We were all ready to defend the cutaways to the divers in the shower (the water keeps them warm!) and make another stab at selling you on the sport of it all, but while we support hot dudes in Speedos holding each other in any context, we're not going to insult you by trying to say it isn't anything other than super-duper gay with sprinkles on top.

WORK: Calendars

Our hallway loves the calendars for some reason. Many of us have multiple calendars hanging on our walls... work calendars, free calendars from UPS, home-made crocheted calendars, calendars featuring bulldogs, pugs, kittens, Corvettes, waterfalls, or Jesus.

And let us not forget those page-a-day desktop calendars. Dan has a "You Might Be a Redneck" one, and I have one that teaches me a new Origami (and I love the square paper). Then my officemate has one called "Dumb Dares for the Office" which has suggestions, like "Shout 'phone' every time someone's phone rings" or "Use a made up word during a meeting".

Well anyways, Monday was my first day back into the office from my business trip, and I was nursing a strained left foot arch (that I hurt running last Thursday), so I was hobbling. And just like me, I was kinda making it known that I was handicapped (think Michael Scott and the George Foreman grill).

Slackers that we are, our page-a-day calendars are never on the day that it is, and my officemate was catching up and just started laughing. The dumb dare for Monday just happened to be:

RUN: 4.33 miles @??:??, Eau Gallie Cswy Fun Run, Melbourne, FL

[Hybrid]
Alright, this was my first time back to the Wednesday Eau Gallie Fun Run with my coworker. I said that we'd do a hill workout, so we did. I charged up the causeway, walked a couple of light-posts then jogged down the other side. We did three sets of out-and-backs (6 charges). We found out that we were more limited by our lung capacity than we were by our legs.

That's the quick summary. Below is a pre-run stretch-in-different-ways pic, along with the post-run jumping pics of us and our shoes. Enjoy!:

MOM: Cologne

we're getting ready to go to grand china for dinner and are getting
cleaned up etc. i ask mom what perfume she's wearing, and she said
"red door". i ask her if she likes my cologne, and she asks what i'm
wearing... i tell her "Curve", and she says "that's the ones the gays
wear!"

HA!

i asked for clarification "do you smell all the gays?" and she said
that whenever one walks by, that's what they smell like.

HA!

then mom finds a copy of The Tiger, and laughs when she finds "The Sex
Issue" -- "How can they do this?!"... then as I type this, it gets
quiet and I turn and look...

Me: "Mom, what are you reading? Are you reading the Sex Issue?"

Mom: "Of Course"

HA!

EVENT: Happy Birthday MOM!

The kids in our family are always like "Am I First?!" when it comes to celebrating birthdays and holidays, and Valentine's Day is my MOM's birthday.

So I was online with MOM tonight after my run, and she said that she was talking with my little sister on the phone. It was 11:31 PM, and MOM said that my little sister was going to call back in 29 minutes, so I said that I was going to call her in 28 minutes.

I called her at 11:57 PM determined to talk the 3 minutes to get to midnight, and sure enough, when I saw the time on the computer change to 12:00 AM, MOM said that Camille was trying to call in, so I said "Happy Birthday MOM! Now I'm going to bed!".

HA!

I'm first!

Happy Birthday MOM!

JOURNAL: WA1A "Top 3@3 with Tony Banks"

Make another mark for Harris. It was my officemate's turn to win (second time?) -- I was ineligible since I won last week.

Anyways, I gave him the idea on how to answer the question we knew Tony would ask...

Officemate (Caller #7): Hey.
Tony Banks: What are you up to?
O.M.: Nothing much, just working.
T.B.: Thanks for obeying the L.A.W. (listen at work). Can you say where you're calling from?
O.M.: Not Riverside Bank!
HA! and Tony liked that!

Just for those who don't know: Riverside Bank seems to win a number of these radio contests too, so we [lovingly] consider them our rivals.

I was just picturing all of those ladies crowded around the radio and their reactions to our mischief.

Yeah, I'm probably going to hell for this.

And the winner tomorrow will now probably be from "Not Harris".

:)

Anyways,
The Three Most Requested Songs for Wednesday, February 13, 2008:
  • 3. "Whatever It Takes" - Lifehouse
  • 2. "Don't Stop The Music" - Rihanna

MOM: Today's GChat With MOM - Squares

[disclaimer: the posting of this gchat excerpt is entirely unauthorized (by MOM).]

MOM's in Texas for another wedding, but she still manages to stay connected to her emails. Even while on vacation, she's manages to always stays curious to learning new things. She is so cute:

As you could also see, I'm not all-the-best teacher either. But then again, it's only an introduction. She will ask again and/or surprise me (i.e. cheat by ask my sister how to do it then greeting me with a Square-Smiley).

    MOM, you are clever.

And as shown below, if she doesn't understand something the first time (or the second time), she will by the third time... and with enthusiasm:

    Ha!

    NEWS: "Activate Anderson begins" (MOM!)

MOM is in the new again! This time she was on the front page of the hometown newspaper, the Anderson-Independent!

Here's the online-version of the article:

She doesn't get the newspaper, so she learned about her celebrity through her friends. She then wrote all the kids an email, upstaging the newspaper story with another story of her own:

"When I went to Senior Solutions to get my blood tests.....blood sugar is 119 because I finished the delicious cake Rita baked, my BP is okay this time, my cholesterol will be mailed to me next week....hope it will be good this time. Everybody came to me to tell me I am on the front page!! Well, I told them I almost call 911 yesterday. When I came down from my computer class, the doors were locked!!!! I could not go out!! How can I call for help? Good I have my cell phone!! Then I saw another door to the side that can only open from inside! It opens!!! Wow!! Did I enjoy my fresh air.....for a while I thought I have to spend the night there...not bad, at least I have a warm place to stay, my banana for lunch is still with me and coffee in the coffee pot . There is restroom available there!!! Think about that!!!"
    Ha!

Here are a couple more pictures from the "Activate Anderson begins" article:

    Inappropriate Dog Treats

Mmmmm... I hope Mom buys me some of these. --Euchre

Read the original post from the Consumerist (especially for the comments!!!):

    "Phallicious!"
"Hey, it's what most dogs spend all day licking anyway, so you'd think a dog would like it."
"I bet they're meaty, or at least high in protein."
"For the sake of all that is appropriate, I wonder if they come in sausage-flavored."
"i wonder if del monte would let me borrow that mold. i've got an office christmas party coming up & i've been working on the perfect gift for my wonderful co-workers. i think 'T' shaped cookies would portray my feelings perfectly."
"I love whoever had the BALLS to make it."

EVENT: Orlando Gay Chorus "Don We Now..."

I got home around 1:30am last night, surprised that I made it - I was SO sleepy... and phased out a few times. On the last stretch (on Lake Andrew Drive) I saw a stray cat, so I stopped, put the emergency light on, opened my door, and threw a few handfuls of popcorn at it.

    (Digressing.)

Last evening was the first performance of the Orlando Gay Chorus' "Don We Now..." holiday program.

There was heavy traffic on 95, and I wasn't sure if I was going to make it, but once clear, I high-tailed it and made it with 2 minutes to spare. A couple friends spotted my entrance and send me cryptic voice/txt msgs to that fact (i.e. "I'm watching you..." and "look left"). Too funny - what a wonderful surprise.

The program was very lively and didn't disappoint. The crowd favorites had to be the "12 Groovy Days of Christmas" (ooah ooah) and "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy" (Bears in Tights!), and the simple "White Christmas" (with audience participation) was a splendid way to end the show.

Here are a couple pics of the chorus during the performance:

    Part I
    Part II

After the show, I found my friends who txt-ed me:

    Me and Rick (aka Darth)
    Cung and Tommy
    now just the Azians!

And I also took pictures with friends from the chorus (hosted by the ever-lovely Peaches):

Me with Peaches and Jose (ribbon guy)
    Peaches with his elf ears
    Bill and Peaches

And the event is also a toy drive for the Toys For Tots organization. There were men in uniform to collect (read the last sentence how you will...):

    Toys for Tots

After that, I headed to my friend's house to pick up a watch I had left there last weekend, but I couldn't Just do that. I needed some brother-to-brother time with Mu Shu. He was actually pretty calm tonight. I brought him outside for him to do his business, took him for a walk/run, then brought him in and dressed him up. I stayed with him in his caged-area, and he just rested his head on my shoe.

Here are the Mu Shu pics:

    Tangled, Tailored
    there's mischief in his eyes
    just so innocent

Anyways, it was getting much later than I'd hope for, and I headed out back home. And as the start of this entry mentioned, it was a bit of a struggle towards the end. But I did arrive home safe - and I didn't hit a stray cat - so that's good. And I now just need a nap. Instead, I'm heading to the movie theatre for my third movie of the weekend, Enchanted.

I really should've gone to bed a couple hours ago. I'm cheering friends on tomorrow morning. Anyways, I spent this evening catching up on my TV shows online -- namely 3 episodes of Brothers & Sisters, 2 episodes of Pushing Daisies, and 1 episode of Dirty Sexy Money.

Okay, now... to bed, for real.

TELEVISION: Dancing With The Stars - Sabrina Bryan

I don't have cable so I don't really watch much tv, but I still like keeping up-to-date with what's happening. So I keep current by going to rickey.org.

Recently, I saw that the current season of Dancing With the Stars just gave out its first perfect 30 score -- to Sabrina Bryan (from the Cheetah Girls) and her partner Mark Ballas, WEEK 4 - Paso Doble:

I thought the performance looked great, high-energy, and wonderful. I watched their performances so far and am amazed by their skill level.

So, tonight MOM and I were gchatting...

    Luisa: Hi, Cedric
    me: Hi MOM
    ...
me: did you watch sabrina get 30?
    Luisa: Yeah!
       All the contestants are awesome.
       They all deserve 30!!!!!
    me: not all of them
Luisa: It is hard to be a judge when the competition is so fierce!
    me: omg

Wow. MOM initiated a gchat then used the word 'fierce'. (thanks Carrie Ann). I wonder what MOM will learn next... Hip Hop?

    -----
Anyways, here are Sabrina's other performances:

    WEEK 1 - Cha Cha Cha (26)

    WEEK 2 - Quickstep (26)

    WEEK 3 - Jive (27)

    WORK: OOP

One of my co-workers sent an email to the team with the following Out-of-Plant message -- interpret as you wish:

I am home with the plumber ... will be in ... ????
    Please pass the word ...
    Thanks,
    Marty

Nga printed the email message out (in a bigger font) and posted it on our office door. It gathered a little bit of graffiti:

Today was as fun as work gets.

I'm about to get ready to head over to Orlando for the weekend. But before I could go start packing, MOM caught me on GChat:
