EVENT: Orlando Gay Chorus "Don We Now..."

I got home around 1:30am last night, surprised that I made it - I was SO sleepy... and phased out a few times. On the last stretch (on Lake Andrew Drive) I saw a stray cat, so I stopped, put the emergency light on, opened my door, and threw a few handfuls of popcorn at it.

(Digressing.)

Last evening was the first performance of the Orlando Gay Chorus' "Don We Now..." holiday program.

There was heavy traffic on 95, and I wasn't sure if I was going to make it, but once clear, I high-tailed it and made it with 2 minutes to spare. A couple friends spotted my entrance and send me cryptic voice/txt msgs to that fact (i.e. "I'm watching you..." and "look left"). Too funny - what a wonderful surprise.

The program was very lively and didn't disappoint. The crowd favorites had to be the "12 Groovy Days of Christmas" (ooah ooah) and "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy" (Bears in Tights!), and the simple "White Christmas" (with audience participation) was a splendid way to end the show.

Here are a couple pics of the chorus during the performance:

After the show, I found my friends who txt-ed me:

Me and Rick (aka Darth)
Cung and Tommy
now just the Azians!

And I also took pictures with friends from the chorus (hosted by the ever-lovely Peaches):

Me with Peaches and Jose (ribbon guy)
Peaches with his elf ears
Bill and Peaches

And the event is also a toy drive for the Toys For Tots organization. There were men in uniform to collect (read the last sentence how you will...):

After that, I headed to my friend's house to pick up a watch I had left there last weekend, but I couldn't Just do that. I needed some brother-to-brother time with Mu Shu. He was actually pretty calm tonight. I brought him outside for him to do his business, took him for a walk/run, then brought him in and dressed him up. I stayed with him in his caged-area, and he just rested his head on my shoe.

Here are the Mu Shu pics:

Tangled, Tailored
there's mischief in his eyes
just so innocent

Anyways, it was getting much later than I'd hope for, and I headed out back home. And as the start of this entry mentioned, it was a bit of a struggle towards the end. But I did arrive home safe - and I didn't hit a stray cat - so that's good. And I now just need a nap. Instead, I'm heading to the movie theatre for my third movie of the weekend, Enchanted.
