[note: the date on the pics are one day late - should be '12/08/2007' instead of '12/07/2007'.]
I wonder why I wake up early when I don't need to.
Answer:
because all the more interesting where the day will bring you
This morning, I woke up pre-7am to drive up to Cape Canaveral for the Reindeer Run 5K, the fifth race in the SpaceCoastRunners ROY Series.
A couple pics from the drive:
The weather was very nice and it was on the brink of getting warm. I had my camera and a fresh 8-pack of rechargeable batteries and was ready to take pictures... only that ate all 4 pairs in the less-than-10-minutes after I got there (BOO!). Luckily, my friend Robin gave me hers so that I could take pictures of the race (YAH!).
Here are a few race pics:
I headed back to the race center and saw the paramedics working on Dave (Robin's husband). He was dehydrated and had pushed himself too hard. He also had some convulsion, for which they decided to bring him to the emergency room.
A couple weeks ago, at the Space Coast Marathon, Dave was brought to go to the hospital because of dehydration. Anne (a friend) and I went over to Cape Canaveral Hospital to meet Robin. The doctor ran some tests, which came back clean.
Anyways, I'm so glad that Dave's feeling better and that he will take it easy and forego next weekend's race. The two of them are running Maniacs! But we all need some down time every now-and-again.
With that, they checked out of the hospital's care, and it was home time again. I downloaded the pictures from the cameras then uploaded them onto my fotki site then gathered my camera and supporting material and headed south into town. I ran a couple errands then ended up at Circuit City to make an exchange, which I was luckily able to do; also, I was told that the camera actually went down in price since I bought it, so I got a healthy refund (WHEE!). Then it's back home (here, now), and in a moment, I'm back out... west, this time, to watch the Orlando Gay Chorus perform their Don We Now Our Gay Apparel concert.
And tomorrow's another early morning day...
