This past Sunday was Come Out With Pride Orlando, and it was bigger and better than ever. This year, Pride moved from the small hidden grassy area by Church Street to a more-visible location, and it felt like a "coming out" of sorts for the festival.
By noon, gay-licious dance music was radiating from the Walt Disney Amphitheater beside Lake Eola.
This year's theme was "A Salute to Broadway" and the special guest performer was Miss Jennifer Holliday of Dreamgirls fame. She only performed three songs, but she was (as MOM would say...) fierce!
I LOVE ORLANDO PRIDE! I see Everybody and the local culture just makes it unique. The attendance was estimated at 22,000 (more than double last year's numbers).
Here are the pics:
The parade was again heart-warming and really hit the spot as far as evoking the sense of community that we have here in Central Florida.
Then my cell phone ran out of batteries... and Universal Studios always bring their really hot guys on stilts to Pride... oh well.
Orlando Pride was awesome, and I can't wait for next year!
