TOASTMASTERS: Table Topics Practice Contest

At today's Toastmasters meeting, we had a practice for next week's [club-level] Table Topics Contest. I was/am one of the contestants, and it's been a while since I've had to speak in a non-SAA capacity, so I was nervous... ACS nervous.

We drew numbers, and I was the first to go.

Before I went up, I knew that no matter what the table topic, I was going to talk about American Gladiators. I'm genuinely excited about the show, and I knew that my enthusiasm would be contagious.

The table topic topic was: "What is your new year resolution and how do you intended to keep it?"

And I said: "My new year resolution is to watch more television." followed by how, while watching tv, I can fold clothes and wash dishes (do housework), txt my sister (stay in contact), and eat dinner (at a reasonable hour).

I was fine as far as time went, but my ending was sort of rough - trying to reiterate the topic but having trouble with the reword. Still, it was well-received, and I won my fourth (???) ribbon for Best Table Topic.
