FAMILY: 2008 Disney Marathon: The warm-up

Friday January 11, 2008 whoa, how late is this post?
Cedric picks me up from the airport. Amazingly, we find one another.


I took the first flight out so I was starving. Breakfast at IKEA! Wait...is IKEA even open? Drat! Not until 10am. Hence, breakfast (number one...).


After splitting a $10 waffle, we try our luck at the 7-11, where $10 buys us two scratch-off tickets, two doughuts, and two corn dogs and change!


Then IKEA is finally open. Time a real breakfast (number 3 for those counting).
Huh? IKEA was open at 9:30. Doh.
Free coffee! Whee!
...until 10am. It's 10:05. Doh.
We just ate breakfast(s). But 99 cents... okay.
And we get free coffee anyway. Yaaaay!


After all that breakfast, Ced has to go to the bathroom.


And then we hit the clearance sale at Old Navy. Cedric has a 10% coupon that expires 3 months from October? Do the math? Uh, that expires...TOMORROW! Wheee!
Five HUGE bags, one 10% off coupon, one gift card, and 4 feet of checkout receipt later, we're outta there for under $80!!


Because we haven't spent enough money yet, we head to the Race Expo to pickup our race registration. There's a lot of people, but can you find us?


Mike likes Beckham's milk moustache.

We get our race shirts. Grey?


Ooh all the medals from 2007. Got it, got it, got it...



Cedric is so lactose-intolerant the Milk House makes his tummy hurt.


Time to relax and find somewhere to eat dinner. How about this place?


After much giggling, we find a Chinese buffet instead for the Early Bird special. We're officially 60 years old.


And finally. We check into our hotel room and unload our loot.


We go to bed early (7pm?), yet Cedric & I wake up at 3am, then 6am, and then finally wake up to go to the Parks.

First up: Disney Hollywood Studios


We hit just the highlights to save our legs/feet for the race.
Tower of Terror


Next, Aerosmith's Rock N Roller Coaster. We ride it three times!



Then we all the Kodak Photo Spots in the park.


Next stop: Animal Kingdom
We look for random stuff to ride while we wait to go see the Nemo show. Like Dinosaur. Scary!


Lunch break at the Yakking Yeti.
I mean the Yak N Yeti.


Back to the reef!




And to prove he was there, Nemo got the t-shirt. Clearance!


And snacks before we go. See Ced's inappropriate treat?


We meet Billy later at Carrabbas to stuff our faces. I mean, carb-load. We even get free calamari thanks to Ced's messy pants.



Then . Time for bed. We have to wake up in SIX hours?
