RUN: 6 miles, Wickham BCC Parking Lot

[FOOD PICS! in this entry]

So far this week, my driving's improved. It's been amazingly low-stress, and although I'd like to attribute it wholly to the audiobooks, I think it's due to a recent shift in priorities/perspective. I could expound on this idea like a schoolgirl, but I'll save that for another time (just wanted to mention). Anyways...

As expected, work was much slower today. It was again waiting for someone to do something -- this time, for my code to be merged into the baseline so that Ron and I could test it and sign them off. I did finish the Anderson Cooper audiobook and tried starting Hillary Clinton's, but I immediately didn't like her reading voice so back it went (I exchanged them at the library after practice tonight with Augusten Burrough's "Running With Scissors" and Mitch Albom's "For One More Day":

Anyways, I left work a few minutes early (because I got to work a few minutes early plus ate at my desk) and made it to practice while there was sunlight. Practice was hard. Supposedly 4-5 miles at :30 over 5k pace, I was gunning for 7 miles at whatever pace. Here's what I ran:

Warmup: 1/2 mile (alone)
Practice: 1 mile (w/John), 3 miles (alone)
Cooldown: 1 mile (w/Michelle and Loran), 1/2 mile (w/Paul and Jamie#2)

The weather was a little chilly by the end of practice and my legs were getting eaten by bugs. During practice, my right leg, especially from my knee-and-below, was tight and was hurting despite stretching well beforehand. I'm going to be sure to ice it [using just-water ice] tonight before bed and taking the next couple days off. Oh, this is ATF, but here's a picture of the devilish Himalayan ice pack:

Anyways, every night after practice, on the way home, I drive by Sonics whose sign's advertising 5 Sonic burgers for $5 after 5pm on Tuesdays. I decided to go for it. I didn't feel like using the microwave tonight. (I also got a medium Strawberry Fruit Slushie which was awesome... like a 100% fruit popsicle blended up). Well, I got home and...

FIVE BURGERS!

SO big, SO fresh...

and SO delicious... I could only manage Two of the FIVE. That leaves me three for tomorrow: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Yay!

Well, that's my hour of blogging. No TV tonight. I had a very nice phone conversation, and stuff like that "keeps me grounded" (Heroes allusion... did you catch?). I'm excited about what this week brings... lunch activities and after-work engagements... spending time with people I enjoy. 6-day workweek be damned, this week is going to be good.
