EVENT: SCM Pre-Race Dinner

The pre-race dinner for the Space Coast Marathon was held last Saturday (11/24/07) at the Radission at the Port (Canaveral). The keynote speaker was Joan Benoit Samuelson, winner of the first Olympic gold medal awarded in women's marathon (1984 Los Angeles).

I volunteered my MOM to help take dinner tickets at the event.

In no time, the dining room was completely full.

Luckily, friends saved us a couple seats towards the front. I took videos of Joan speech and posted them on YouTube. Here's clip 5 of 14:


Afterwards, MOM got Joan to autograph an Olympic cookbook that had her on the cover.
