The Space Coast Marathon was Sunday morning (11/25/07). I signed up MOM and myself to help out.
I got to wear a astronaut uniform. MOM was so proud!
We were at the south side of the course directing the marathon traffic into Stonebridge Drive for a detour. I saw some of my friends running.
The area where we were stationed was pretty scenic. MOM wanted her picture taken in front of the pretty houses:
The weather that morning was also really nice. It was nice enough to...
(no, she doesn't need to pee)
After the last runner passed by, we drove north to race central over at Riverfront Park.
The awards ceremony was over and most of the runners (half-marathoners) had already left, but a lot of the decorations were still up:
(kids, it's not a ride)
(woo! celebrating big!)
Two hundred pizzas were ordered and eaten... all gone by the time we got there, but there were Plenty of bagels left ("grab a pizza box and fill it up!").
Mmmmm!
Here, we caught up with some of the usual suspects:
Last year, I ran the half. This year, volunteering gave me another perspective, and it felt very rewarding. And to have MOM there with me, it was fun. I know she had a great time.

After helping with the clean-up, MOM and I headed home, but not without stopping at the Harvey's Groves on US1:
MOM got her guava jelly and guava preserves. Now we can go home.
