Four movies. Four different theatres. This combination of Juno and the Baltimore Landmark was my favorite.
I went to see it with Cindy after our dinner with her friend Curt. It was the night before I was to leave back to Florida, and I felt that if we had just gone home, we'd just be sitting in front of the TV watching more episodes of The Girls Next Door on her Tivo. We're both glad that we went.
The theatre is very new and in Baltimore City. Cindy's been holding off going there until I visited, and let me tell you... that theatre is Very nice... in addition to the standard popcorn and soda, the concessions stand offers special items such as crab cakes, crab-stuffed pretzels, and ALCOHOL! No only was there stadium seating, but all of the chairs were leather (!) and still had the new-car smell. The people in the audience were young and trendy (so, much like the people who go to the Charles, except younger). And the projection was noticeably crisper than at the other theatres we've visited.
Now about the movie: Juno was really a breath of fresh air. The dialogue wasn't standard fare, and the movie had a great cast who all gave outstanding performances. The movie felt like Superbad meets Knocked-Up except first-class instead of coach.
Anyways, it's a great movie that I hope does well at the Oscars, and it's definitely DVD-worthy.
