Cindy and I went to go see Sweeney Todd with her John and Michael. I went in worried about the fact that its a musical, but I was pleasantly surprised. Though untrained, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter had great voices. The little boy (Ed Sanders) was clearly a professional and having a stand-out voice.
The movie was dark (as expected) but possibly more gory than in No Country for Old Men - there was a musical number in which Sweeney is slaughtering a string of customers that made me glad that the theatre didn't have stadium seating. It was at those times that Michael kept on offering me popcorn.
Anyways, it was a well-done movie and one that I was glad to have gone to see.
