RUN: 1.6 + 4.2 miles @12:00 + 33:00, Wetlands & Ave Loops

Part I - Viera Wetlands (1.6 miles)After errands out, I came home tired and head full. I changed and went back out for a run as the run was starting to set. I headed to the Viera Wetlands to perhaps get a couple loops in, but as I headed into the trails, a ranger drove aside me and told me that the park was closing in ten minutes. It was fine -- the guy was nice and the time allowed me a which loop of a long quarter of the park (I do fancy uniformed men in trucks... so it was all good).

Anyways, the wetland pics turned out well:

The 1.6 mile loops lasted me 12 minutes and the rest of the episode of Car Talk on the iPod, so the timing turned out well.

Part II - Viera Avenue, Viera HS, Stadium Pkwy (4.2 miles)I still wanted to put in a few miles, so I drove over and parked at WM and headed out on my "Avenue/Stadium Pkwy" loop. My legs were well warmed-up with the easy jog at the Wetlands. I hardly stretched, but I hadn't stressed my legs early and they were compliant. I ran facing traffic and frequently switched between the edge of the asphalt and the ant-hill-pocked grassy shoulder, but either way the terrain was soft on my legs.

I ran up Lake Andrew past the new light, beside the Viera Sports Complex, and up behind Viera High School. I then got onto Stadium Parkway. That road is dark and quiet. It's a slow and steady hill with an equally slow slope down the other end. I took the incline with a determined pace and maintained the brisk tempo off the other end. I then look we west-arm of Wickham back to the roundabout -- it was particularly dark, but the traffic on this strip of road has increased noticeably, to which I have mixed feelings (mostly good). I took the second half of this short-side at a full-out sprint, heavy on the arms and pumping the legs. I felt strong. Terrain no matter, I was flying. I took a 20 second walk-break at the round for traffic, then got onto the sidewalk for a final full-out sprint (Asian Kick #2).

It was a very successful run. I had failed with recording the time on my watch, but according to my iPod's playlist, I hit it circa 33:00 (maybe a minute or two faster) for the 4.2 miles.

I didn't take pictures from that, but I managed a few kitchen pics once I got home (for record):

Tonight was a great night for running with one more day to go in this weekend. I'll probably put in another good run tomorrow... explore a new local perhaps.

Recent event allowed me a "fresh start" with my weight (not lipo, though some could argue). All I know is that I should try to keep to a lighter weight -- I feel a difference in my performance if not in my appearance, and it feels great.
