WORK: Sick Day

When I got to work this morning, my throat was feeling rough and my right knee was hurting, and I ended up taking the advice of some co-workers and went home on sick leave to rest up and get better.

I resisted the urge to go to the doctor -- lately I've been feeling disillusioned about healthcare... as in "do they Really care?" because the last time I went to get my knee checked out, it was of absolutely no use. I'm sure that I'll be going back to get a diagnosis, but I'm waiting on some friends' recommendations first.

Anyways, I just went home and took a nap, had lunch (veggie pizza and a salad), took another nap, then tried catching up on last night's Chuck and Heroes premieres (the NBC online video player has some kinks to work out) before taking another nap.

I'm feeling much better than this morning and will probably make it through the rest of the week alright. I'm in need of an change of perspective to one more bright and sunny. I wonder what the prescription would look like.

Tomorrow, it's back to work -- testing and Toastmasters -- followed by a dinner with friends at the Melting Pot... (I should probably give them the opportunity to opt me out).

It's just a job.
