MOVIE: Cloverfield (@Rave)

Where's the...
It's 1:44 AM. I just got back from the midnight showing of Cloverfield at Rave.

The movie was very short, but that's probably a good thing. It was very hand-held and jarring -- and I'm talking about both the camera-work and the storyline...

A monster invades Manhattan, but before that, you have to get through the setup of a guy's going-away party yadda yadda yadda.

Yeah, so the theatre was packed and I was the oldest person there... seriously. And apparently there were some free disposable cameras given away before I got there (which was "right at" since I'm so close). Oh well.

That's basically it. "Cute" idea and the special effects were high up there, but the movie left everyone kinda indifferent and unengaged... don't get me wrong, everyone thought the monsters were cool, but the story was just cheesy.

Thank goodness I used a free pass on this movie.
