RUN: 12 miles@1:22:00+?, 2xYloop+city, Orlando, FL

This morning, I woke up way early and drove over to Orlando to go running with my friend Billy. He, my sister, and I are running the Disney Marathon together next weekend, so we're all in "gotta get in our mileage so we can taper, omg taper" mode. Cindy put in 14 yesterday, and Billy and I planned 10.

We ran his usual 4 mile loop twice - both time at about 41 minutes each. He couldn't get in the last couple miles because of an appointment he had, but I felt like I had to put those extra miles in. Before I headed back out, we had to take our "post-run" sweaty pics:

The bonus 2 would've been Amelia to Orange and back, but once I got to Orange, I felt that I needed a wilder route for when I gmap-pedometer the run. And it turned out that I had put in 4.

The first couple loops with Billy were easy-going with walk breaks at the start of the third and fourth miles. We imbibed a sip of vitamin water after miles 4 and 8 and took a running gel (powerbar strawberry-banana) at mile 7. When I went out on my own, it was with music and at a racing pace but with more-frequent walk breaks.

It was a good, long run, and I think I got away with it without injury - a good thing for the week before a marathon. I'm thinking that I'll go out on Tuesday and Thursday for short runs (3 or 4 miles) just to keep the muscles warm and knowledgeable, then I'm good to go for next Sunday.

Well, after the run, I went to Pom's house to take a quick shower before I headed northwards to visit my friends Cori and Marty to help with an iPhone. They have two cute doggies, Ollie and Sam, of which I'll post pictures of on a different blog entry. After a nice lunch that they prepared, I quickly drove back into town for some Toastmasters Officer training (meh). And now I'm needing a nap before before heading out for dinner at California Grill (Disney!) with Pom and Papa.

These last couple days of vacation are passing so quickly and so packed. Monday's going to be all hit-the-ground-running. so I'm thinking that I should probably crank as many of these blog entry out tomorrow and not wait too too long, but we'll just have to see how the inspiration and motivation flows.
