MUSIC: "Before The Worst" by The Script

This song was the Free Download of the Week at iTunes. Every now and again there are gems, like Brooke Waggoner's "Young Friends" a couple months ago, and this one "Before The Worst" by The Scripts is another one. Granted, I tend to gravitate towards movies and songs that have a dark lining. This song has tones of cheerfulness and perhaps hope, but when I leave work at 6:00pm and it's pitch dark outside...

Today's been a TAD. I'm currently lacking a sense of purpose even though I have some Toastmasters meetings and efforts to coordinate. I'm happy and excited about them, but I think I'm feeling a lack of the something grander. I'm semi talking about "life partner" issues, and semi talking about trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. A couple quick years, and I'll've hit the 30-year milestone. I'm such a cynic when it comes to celebrations, yet when the time arrives, I bask in the proverbial glow. Anyways, today was lacking any celebration.

Yes, I feel D&T and INAH. I'm not Vesper in the shower D&T (yet) but I'm needing a similar release. It could be the seasonal depression (and I've always thought that I really enjoyed the darkness). Maybe it's because I miss my family. I'll see them in a couple weeks. I just need a reset. Hopefully I'm still under-warranty, though there's something to be said of starting over.

Anyways, I'll probably go out for a short walk. Below is the song.

"Before The Worst"
by The Script

Lyrics:

It's been a while since the two of us talked
About a week since the day that you walked
Knowing things would never be the same
With your empty heart and mine full of pain

So explain to me, how it came to this
Take it back to the night we kissed
It was Dublin city on a Friday night
With vodkas and coke, I was Guinness all night

We were sitting with our backs against the world
Saying things that we thought but never heard
Who would have thought it would end up like this?

Where everything we talked about is gone
And the only chance we have of moving on
Is trying to take it back before it all went wrong

Before the worst, before we met
Before our hearts decide it's time to love again
Before too late, before too long
Let's try to take it back before it all went wrong

There was a time, that we'd stay up all night
Best friends talking till the daylight
Took the joys alongside the pain
With not much to loose, but so much to gain

Are hearing me? Cause I don't wanna miss,
Set you a drift on memory bliss
It was Grafton Street on a rainy night
I was down on one knee and you where mine for life

We were thinking we would never be apart
With your name tattooed across my heart
Who would have thought it would end up like this?

Where everything we talked about is gone
And the only chance we have of moving on
Is trying to take it back Before it all went wrong

Before the worst, before we met
Before our hearts decide it's time to love again
Before too late, before too long
Let's try to take it back before it all went wrong

If the clouds don't clear
Then we'll rise above it, we'll rise above it
Heaven's gate is so near
Come walk with me through
Just like we used to, just like we used to

Let's take it back
Before it all went wrong

Before the worst, before we met
Before our hearts decide it's time to love again
Before too late, before too long
Let's try to take it back
Before it all went wrong

Let's try to take it back
Before it all went wrong
