I saw this on Digg and was immediately excited! -- The H.J. Heinz Company's design for a new ketchup packet. Pretty cool. Well, it's like a typical dipping sauce container except with the option to squeeze. I still like it. This is the kind of stuff I should be thinking about.
[I heard the intro of this song in the background of one of the episodes of Alias (Season 2), and I knew that I had to search it out. It's a self-affirming song with a powerful undercurrent. It was my happy find for the month. :)]
I'm on a high, on a high nothing more to it. we are the sea and the sky and the blue that runs through it, yeah.
and there are some who say there are so many things I need so I run or I fight and I crawl or I scream and I bleed I bleed, I bleed
well, it's a lie, it's a lie don't you believe it. if you're fine then you're fine it's all how you see it. oh, there never will be no conspiracy of happiness.
I'm on a high, on a high nothing more to it I have the sun, it's a star why should I refuse it?
and there are so many reasons I could give you why I should be down there's not enough money or time and my love you're not around around, around
but it's a lie, it's a lie don't you believe it. if you're fine, then you're fine it's all how you see it. oh, there never will be no conspiracy of happiness.
you're alive, you're alive how else could you hear me? you are fine, you are fine there's nothing worth fearing 'cause there never will be no conspiracy of happiness
I'm on a high, on a high we are the sea and the sky I'm on a high, on a high I'm on a high
it's a lie, it's a lie don't you believe it 'Cause I've tried and I've tried I can't really see it yeah, I'm trapped inside my conspiracy of happiness.
said I was yours, you were mine but I didn't really mean it and I lied and I lied and I wish you hadn't seen it 'cause I'm trapped inside my conspiracy of happiness
I'm on a high, on a high, there's nothing more to it, yeah.
Okay, it's close to bedtime, so I'll try to keep this short and sweet.
I think that this three-day weekend went well. I managed to get an amazing lot accomplished... quite a few procrastinated tasks performed and staying in good spirits. ... I completed my Teenie Beanie Baby search Thursday night after work and also managed to post on a funny Gentleman's Club sign pic then went to bed early.
Friday, I went for an early/not-early-enough run then completed a round of Orlando (UCF area, Downtown Orlando, I-Drive Outlets, DHS/Epcot). I came home to Melbourne that night.
I slept in on Saturday then posted Friday's trip report before setting off bug bombs and escaping to the movie theater to watch the latest Harry Potter (great cinematography, but overall meh), then I went for a run.
And today, I slept in again then watched at least half-a-dozen episodes of MacGyver while re-washing all the dishes/utensils in the kitchen. I put the bedsheets back on the beds in the guest room and finished putting together a project I was doing for our Toastmasters club before making a quick catch-up post of my friend Herb's garden. I went to Lowe's to pick up some stuff for my troubled lawn mower then went for a run. I re-fashioned the back sprinkler when I got home then gave myself a haircut before jumping into the shower.
When I'm at home for stretches of time, I like to cook. It's mostly frozen foods, but it's still all good. Having a temporary crown since Thursday morning hasn't hampered the hobby too much; I just know to stay away from hamburgers and other sandwiches.
Anyways... that was my weekend, and I've gotta get ready for bed since I can't sleep in tomorrow.

It took a while to figure all of the songs -- especially "Whatchadoin" -- but I'm happy. It's a really good mix that really sets the scene. Give it a listen! :)
To give some background, I met some of the AllEars crew at a meet-up at DHS a month ago (I still need to write up that trip report), and they were all fantastic and encouraging. I learned that amazingly, only a couple of them actually lived in the area -- many of them were from out of state and would just make several trips down each year.
It was a great feeling to be around fellow Disney enthusiasts and to talk shop -- new events and attractions, favorites parks and restaurants -- without anyone giving me blank looks or rolling their eyes when I start using Disney acronyms.
Anyways, I did mention that AllEars published "another one" of my submissions. The WDW Passholders Fireworks Events post was my second article. My first was a write-up of the D23 Flowers & Fireworks Celebration that was held the day after the AllEars meetup.
As you could imagine, I was incredibly giddy at the opportunity to contribute, but I knew that it was going to be a little bit of an adjustment -- I knew that I couldn't write articles like I do for this haphazard Soneevda blog. ... For AllEars, I wanted my articles to be more professional than what I typically write, because of the wider audience they have.
There were other considerations, such as being more conscious of telling a story, and making it less "me-oriented" while maintaining some of my endearing personal flairs. Wanting to inter-mix photos and text, I had to be more conscious of taking a more comprehensive set of photos to support the story.
Speaking of which, I'm a newbie when it comes to applying copyright labels on photos -- notice how ginormous the labels were in the D23 article vs. the PH Fireworks article.
D23:
PH Fireworks:
Because I can't readily make changes to articles after they're published, I've learned that I've had to do more drafts and fact-checking beforehand, which is good practice. It's a lot more work and effort, but I definitely get a greater sense of accomplishment out of it.
Working with the people at AllEars has been a really good learning experience, and I look forward to having the opportunity to do some more write-ups for them. I'm still figuring how my many interests fit into my many obligations, but this is something I find is worth the work and effort.
And you know that the next time they publish something of mine, you'll see a link to it here.
Anyways, I had wanted to go see The Hangover at some point after work today but I was first just too tired (and napped on the couch some), then too focused on getting caught up on the blog, and I never made it back out of the house. I'll probably end up seeing it sometime this weekend with some friends.
Anywho, the two posts I made tonight are a big back, so I'm posting a couple links to them here, up front:
I'm hoping to get an article about Saturday's WDW Passholders Events completed and submitted by tomorrow (we'll see) and also post my Top 10 Red Shirts by Friday.
Work's coming down to the wire, and I'm hoping for another load of energy and motivation.
Anyways, for this post's expanda-bonus, I was in for 3 of something during today's Woot-off. I actually bought it right after I finished my last post. To find out what it is, you'll have to follow the link to continue reading. ...
To give you a taste, here are four of the twenty-three (and counting) points... I think that he's still updating:
Gay marriage will destroy the sanctity of straight marriage Wrong. Britney Spears’ 55-hour just-for-fun marriage destroys the sanctity of straight marriage. Rush Limbaugh’s three temporary marriages destroy the sanctity of straight marriage. John McCain dating and proposing to his second wife while still married to his disfigured first wife destroys the sanctity of marriage.
We can’t redefine marriage • The concept of “redefining marriage” is a linguistic distraction designed to pull the spotlight away from the underlying hatred behind “traditional marriage” propaganda. Giving gay people equal access to the rights and protections of marriage will not change the definition of marriage. Nothing about gay marriage alters heterosexual marriage. The definition of marriage between heterosexuals will remain exactly the same. • If we hadn’t redefined marriage in the 1960s, Barack Obama would still be a bastard in the 19 states that wouldn’t allow the interracial marriage of his parents when he was born. • Ronald Reagan, the divorced patron saint of the modern conservative theocracy, redefined marriage into something temporary and easily revocable in 1969 when as governor of California he signed the Family Law Act, leading the United States into an era of no-fault divorce. • Other historical “redefinitions” of marriage involve the transition of marriage from a business relationship between families to a property relationship between a man and his wife and then to a relationship based on relative equality between a man and a woman.
Homosexuality is not natural Wrong. Since it occurs randomly in nature across all species without any identifiable outside influence, homosexuality is completely natural. Religion, on the other hand, is created entirely by the human imagination. Which makes it, by definition, unnatural.
Americans think gay people are gross Americans think obese people, pregnant teenagers and Newt Gingrich are gross. And they’re allowed to marry as often as they want.

"I Dreamed a Dream" (from Les Miserables) performed by Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent
Lyrics:
I dreamed a dream in time gone by When hope was high And life woth living I dreamed that love would never die I dreamed that God would be forgiving.
Then I was young and unafraid And dreams were made and used And wasted There was no ransom to be paid No song unsung No wine untasted.
But the tigers come at night With their voices soft as thunder As they tear your hope apart As they turn your dream to shame.
And still I dream he'll come to me That we will live the years together But there are dreams that cannot be And there are storms We cannot weather...
I had a dream my life would be So different form this hell I'm living so different now from what it seemed Now life has killed The dream I dreamed. ----- (Alternative Link)
(me:) The performance is absolutely refreshing, and it was really something to see Simon's face genuinely light up during this performance. It's sad though that America will not see have anything quite like this.
Thanks for posting this Rickey! ----- Here's a picture of Susan Boyle: And here's a look at the BGT judges: Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell ----- Holy... I just watched a few more from BGT 2009 Episode 1, and yeah, Britain does rule.
Lots of entries to catch up on, but I tend to work back from the present, so here's the entry for my lone workout this week (a couple of posts back) -- a short run to WM for some car parts.
This weekend will contribute at least three new entries -- a spree of Orlando Toastmaster club visits, a quick trip to the parks, a half-marathon, a holiday party, and some tennis with a coworker. Then most of my free day will be spent in the office -- seriously, a lot of work to catch up on, but let's not think about that right now. There are a couple days of non-work to survive first.
----- UPDATE 10:45 PM - I revisited the Prop 8 Musical post and took a swing at the lyrics. Check it out!
MIAMI — A judge on Tuesday ruled that a strict Florida law that blocks gay people from adopting children is unconstitutional, declaring there was no legal or scientific reason for sexual orientation alone to prohibit anyone from adopting.
Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Cindy Lederman said the 31-year-old law violates equal protection rights for the children and their prospective gay parents, rejecting the state's arguments that there is "a supposed dark cloud hovering over homes of homosexuals and their children."
She noted that gay people are allowed to be foster parents in Florida. "There is no rational basis to prohibit gay parents from adopting," she wrote in a 53-page ruling.
Florida is the only state with an outright ban on gay adoption. Arkansas voters last month approved a measure similar to a law in Utah that bans any unmarried straight or gay couples from adopting or fostering children. Mississippi bans gay couples, but not single gays, from adopting.
Alright, I'm finally caught up with the weekend. I've just posted Friday's sight-seeing tour of Orlando. I don't think it's my best, but it's out there and I can refine it later. Now, I should start packing, but the bed is looking way more attractive. Good night.
Here's my "I posted something that you'll have to scroll down for" post. Tonight I added an entry for this past weekend's Orlando Food and Wine Festival at Lake Eola.
I haven't really sorted the Join The Impact peaceful protest pictures yet. I think that ColdCot will be next thing up.
[Heck, I haven't even posted QoS, ToT, RftT, EEC, or Pride!... yeah, that's a lot to catch up on. Dah.]
I know that I'm late in disseminating this video but I still find it of much benefit. As an amateur speaker, my words may not travel very far or with much strength, but that doesn't mean I can't spread the words of those who speak tall.
"Olbermann: Gay marriage is a question of love" Everyone deserves the same chance at permanence and happiness
Previous posts as evidence, I've been a little dizzy since the election. I'm still trying to find my bearings with this issue and other revelations, and I'm afraid of some of the truths and fears that are falling from the recesses of my subconscious. One such thought surfaced when Keith Olbermann mentioned a certain length many gays have gone through under the pressure of a non-understanding society:
"And uncountable in our history are the number of men and women, forced by society into marrying the opposite sex, in sham marriages, or marriages of convenience, or just marriages of not knowing, centuries of men and women who have lived their lives in shame and unhappiness, and who have, through a lie to themselves or others, broken countless other lives, of spouses and children, all because we said a man couldn't marry another man, or a woman couldn't marry another woman. The sanctity of marriage."
I think of the generations of gays and lesbians before me who had such great pressures and incentives to stay in the closet, and of what a difficult time some of them must've had adjusting to a culture that has since become more accepting. I grew up without these pressures and with a good sense of the freedom of being able to be who I am without shame.
Every day I feel so fortunate to have the love and unwavering support of my family and friends -- in my coming out, my "re-adjustment with society", and my todays. It's just that, unlike the APA's clearing of a hurdle in 1975, in concluding that my sexual preference is not a mental disorder, the hurdle for marriage equality still exists, and it doesn't appear that there is a single organization or entity that can decisively clear and rule this issue.
As I listened to Mr. Olbermann, I realized that with gay marriage, like the lifting of laws that banned interracial marriage, it is just a matter of time. But the thought that gave me a moment's paralysis was a simple question:
Will I ever be able to really love someone?
And by that, I mean "what am I waiting for?"
Am I using the fact that I can't get legally married as an excuse for not pursuing any sort of romantic relationship, and how will this affect me when it comes the time when I can legally get married?
Will I be ready?
I may not find the man of my dreams, and just may be the type that wasn't destined to get gay-married, but I still believe in the worth of having that chance to have a relationship recognized and that hope for lasting happiness. I'm a cynic, but I'm a cynic with a soft spot.
And for that, I plan to be in Orlando in front of City Hall this Saturday afternoon, for a peaceful gathering, part of a nation-wise JoinTheImpact campaign protesting the passing of Florida's Amendment 2, California's Proposition 8, and Arizona's Proposition 102. I feel that NOW is a critical time for our nation, in its rebuilding, and that this is an opportunity for me to join others in taking on the injustice that stares our country in its face. This is something I CAN DO.
Tonight, I was surfing the Internets, visiting some blogs I haven't been to in a while -- one of them being Bravehound.com.
I really don't know how I came to find this blog in the first place, but looking at the picture below, you could probably guess why I would go back.
Anyways, Bravehound is the website of one Andrew McDonald. A couple minutes there, and you would see see that his interests include gay pop culture, the latest technologies, and music.
Although his looks and his enthusiasm for the newest gadgets are beyond me (and really blow my mind), I do find it comforting that 1] we're fellow gays, and 2] we both like taking a lot of pictures of ourselves.
:)
I'm giving him this somewhat lengthy shout-out because I totally pulled code from his site and posting it below. It's of his latest house mix, which is incredibly good, and otherwise, my presentation wouldn't've given him justice (though I'm not sure how much justice I'm giving him below... [wait, that didn't sound right]).
Anyways, check out the music below -- it'll raise your energy -- and stop by his website for a look-around.
Enjoy!

There were 7 at Disneyland: [Note: I didn't get the Kodak Picture Spot by the Astro Orbitor because the area was under refurb. And ooowr... I missed the one by the Partners statue (dah).]
> After making a spirited defense that Men's Synchro diving is not super gay, the Chinese men's springboard team proved us wrong by totally fagging out after winning the 10m event yesterday. Lin Yue and Huo Liang, seen above, got emotional after nabbing the gold and, well, you have eyes, don't you? We were all ready to defend the cutaways to the divers in the shower (the water keeps them warm!) and make another stab at selling you on the sport of it all, but while we support hot dudes in Speedos holding each other in any context, we're not going to insult you by trying to say it isn't anything other than super-duper gay with sprinkles on top.
